A Medical Alert System That Moves With You
A medical alert system is only as good as the response it triggers. Life Assist Advantage Inc. is a Canadian personal emergency response system (PERS) company that pairs simple personal safety devices with a professional monitoring team, so families, seniors, and caregivers get more than a button — they get a fast, well-informed emergency response.

A family business, built to keep families safe
Life Assist Advantage Inc. was founded by Tony Morelli, a former Primary Care Paramedic who spent four years responding to emergency calls, including alerts placed through other medical alert providers. That experience shaped how the company built its platform: around the information first responders actually need, not just the alert itself.
What Is a Personal Emergency Response System (PERS)?
A personal emergency response system is a wearable device — typically a pendant or watch — that lets someone call for help at the press of a button. A modern medical alert system like Life Assist Advantage Inc. goes further, using built-in GPS, cellular connectivity, and two-way voice so the wearer never has to touch or even own a cellphone to get help.
A Medical Alert System Built by a Paramedic, Not a Call Centre
Most alert companies license the same white-labelled software and monitoring process, then sell it under different brand names. Life Assist Advantage Inc. owns its platform outright. That means the company controls the software, the customer experience, and — most importantly — what information gets passed to first responders during an emergency.
Tony’s paramedic background is built directly into the product. Life Assist Advantage Inc. profiles capture medical conditions, medications, allergies, mobility needs, and home access details, so this information can be shared with responders before they arrive on scene.
One platform. Three ways to stay connected.
Every device runs on the same Life Assist platform — built in Canada, not a shared white-label system used by five other brands.

How the Mi-Lo Pendant Works
The Life Assist Advantage Inc. pendant is a fully independent personal safety device. It does not pair with a smartphone, a home base station, or a landline — it has its own built-in SIM card and cellular connection, so it works anywhere there's coverage, not just at home.
SOS Alarm Button
SOS button for immediate help, day or night
2-Way Voice
Two-way voice, so the wearer can talk directly through the pendant
Real-time Location Updates
Always know where your loved one is with accurate, live GPS tracking, continuously logged as location history on the platform
Fall detection
Included on every device at no extra monthly cost
Water-Resistant Design
Built rugged for everyday life, from the shower to a quick drop in water, but long submersion in water should be avoided.
Safe Zone and Alerts
Set zones and get notified if your loved one leaves the designated areas.
Caregiver Monitoring:
Easy-to-use web-based platform for family and caregivers to monitor and manage
Independent Cellular Connection
With its own built-in SIM. A monthly service fee applies.
Because the pendant is constantly reporting its location, caregivers and monitoring staff have an accurate, current picture of where the wearer is if an SOS alert comes in — the same real-time data that powers Safe Zone alerts and the caregiver portal is available the moment an alert is triggered.
Family Monitoring or 911 Monitoring — Your Choice
Not every family wants the same kind of response, so Life Assist Advantage Inc. offers two monitoring paths:
Family Monitoring
SOS and fall alerts are routed to the family members or caregivers the customer chooses. It's a good fit for households where someone is nearly always available to respond.
911 Monitoring
Alerts go to Life Assist's professional monitoring centre, where trained operators can dispatch police, fire, or EMS directly to the device's GPS location — without needing the wearer to know or state their address.
Both plans include GPS tracking, two-way voice, fall detection, and cellular connectivity, with no activation fee and flexible monthly, quarterly, or annual billing.

Certified Professional 911 Monitoring
Life Assist’s 911-monitored service is handled through a ULC-listed, TMA Five Diamond Certified monitoring centre staffed by APCO-certified 9-1-1 telecommunicators — not a general customer service call centre. Emergency calls are answered by trained professionals who can assess the situation, provide guidance, and stay on the line until help arrives.

Protecting the People Who Matter Most
Life Assist devices are most commonly used by two groups: older adults who want to stay independent, and children or teens who need a safer, simpler alternative to a smartphone.
For Seniors Who Want to Stay Independent
A pendant with SOS, fall detection, and GPS lets an older adult keep living at home or moving through their day with less risk that a fall or medical event goes unnoticed. Because the device isn’t tied to a home base station, it works during a walk, a grocery trip, or a visit to family — not just inside the house.
For Children and Teens
Parents get GPS location history and an SOS button their child can use without needing a phone number, app permissions, or social media access. It’s a way to stay connected during school pickup, activities, or time between households, without handing over a full smartphone.
Trusted by Organizations Supporting Vulnerable Canadians
Beyond individual families, Life Assist Advantage Inc. pendants are also used by non-profit and charitable organizations whose staff work with higher-risk populations — for example, outreach and field teams connected to shelters, supportive housing, and harm-reduction sites. These teams often need a hands-free way to call for help, since their hands may not be free or clean enough to use a phone. A pendant with a single SOS button, built-in GPS, and no need to state an address gives field staff a faster, simpler way to get emergency help to the right location.

Frequently asked questions
The most common questions from families comparing personal emergency response options.
What is a medical alert system?
A medical alert system, also called a personal emergency response system (PERS), is a wearable device that lets someone call for help with the press of a button. Life Assist’s version adds built-in GPS, two-way voice, and a choice of family or professional 911 monitoring.
Does the Life Assist pendant need to be paired with a cellphone?
No. The pendant has its own SIM card and cellular connection, so it works independently of any smartphone, home base station, or landline.
What's the difference between Family Monitoring and 911 Monitoring?
Family Monitored routes SOS calls directly to the designated family member or caregiver.
911 Monitored routes SOS calls through the LifeAssist Monitoring Centre, where trained operators can assess the situation and coordinate police, fire, or EMS when required.
With 911 Monitored, family members or caregivers can still be set up to receive device notifications, such as SOS, low battery, power, and Safe Zone alerts. The main difference is who handles the SOS call and emergency response.”
